Join us as we host Janome Canada Education Manager Michael Smith for our official Janome launch! 

 

For over 100 years, the Janome brand has pushed the boundaries of the sewing market, inspiring creativity in every stitch. Since 1978, Janome has proudly operated within Canada, providing sewists across the country industry leading home sewing, quilting and embroidery machines.

Saturday will feature 5 sessions. Sunday will feature 4 more sessions. In each, Michael will demonstrate the amazing capabilities of Janome machines and specialized feet. You may sign up for multiple sessions. 

Refreshments will be provided and you'll receive $10 off (per session booked) on any purchases during the Launch event. 

Session 1: 11:30 - 12 pm
The Dynamic Duo: The AT2000 and the CoverPro 3000
Michael with demonstrate the basics of both the AT200 Serger and CoverPro 3000. He'll start with the basics: threading, tips for preventing skipped stitches, easy adjustments for rolled hem, lettuce edge, pintucks and flatlock. He'll then go on to show us some special applications and beautiful effects you can achieve with these machines. 

Session 2: 12:30 - 1pm
Quilting with Ease: 
Michael will give us an overview and demonstration of Janome's advanced machines (TBD: Skyline 7 or MC 9480) and various quilting presser feet. He'll highlight the circular sewing attachment, quilt binder attachment (with information on its other applications) and the binder foot. 

Session 3: 1:30 - 2pm
Don't fear the Serger!: 
Michael will show us all that the serger is a great addition to a sewing room. He'll cover serger basics, and then move on to demonstrate some specialty presser feet and accessories.

Session 4: 2:30 - 3pm
Exploring the Apparel Possibilities: 
For our apparel sewists, Michael will demonstrateJanome's advanced machines (TBD: Skyline 7 or MC 9480) and several specialty apparel presser feet. Among others, he'll demonstrate the ribbon sewing guide, gathering and ruffler feet, and the beading foot. 

Session 5: 3:30 - 4pm
The versatile HD9: 
Michael will give us all an overview and demonstration of the HD9 with emphasis on just how much an "only straight stitch machine" can do. Not only will he demonstrate its speed and strength but he'll also show us how much MORE it can do, using the ruler foot, free motion foot and quilting needle plate for this machine.
