Learn to Sew - Woven Strata Top Class (Beginner - Sewing)
Have you wanted to learn how to sew but need some help? Would you like to make a cute top at the same time? Learn to sew by making a simple top! The Strata Top pattern is the backbone of your handmade wardrobe and a great pattern for beginners. The uniquely curved hem adds elegance to this staple piece. It offers a contemporary and relaxed fit, making it suitable for various body types. With thoughtful design details like a boat neckline, this pattern allows you to create a comfortable and chic top.
This class is three sessions. Make sure you are able to attend all sessions.
Prerequisites:

You will learn:
- Sewing machine basics such as winding a bobbin and threading the machine
- How to measure yourself to determine your pattern size
- How to cut your pattern out from your fabric
- How to sew with a seam allowance
- How to hem
- How to apply bias neck facing
We will provide:
- a copy of the pattern
- white or black thread
You will need:
- Tracing paper
- Fabric - we recommend a lightweight woven fabric for this pattern. Quilting cotton is great as it is easy to sew and comes in a lot of fun prints. You could also choose a linen/cotton blend. Please avoid anything drapey or slinky.
- 45" wide fabric - 1.6m to 2m depending on size
- 54" wide fabric - 1.6m to 1.8m depending on size
