Introduction to Weaving Workshop (Special Interest)

Create your own piece of woven fiber art!  In this 3.5 hour workshop, you will learn the basics of lap loom weaving.  Using a variety of merino wool and organic cotton fibers, we will warp weave and finish a vibrant wall hanging.

Prerequisites:

• none!

You will learn:

• How to warp a lap loom
• Basic weaving techniques, including:
  • plain weave
  • sumac weave 
  • rya knots

We will provide:

• use of a lap loom during the workshop
• cotton warp string
• yarn and roving

What you need to bring:

• Nothing!
