Sew The Honey Dress Class (Advanced Beginner)

Need a nice light and airy dress to beat the summer heat, then the Honey Dress by Merchant and Mills is your next sew!! This classic long flowy silhouette is the perfect mid summer addition, and best of all it will carry you right into late fall paired with cardigan. Featuring a neat mitred bodice and a gently elasticated back. Choose bold patterns, little prints or a solid for a distinctively different looks.
This class is geared toward advanced beginners and intermediate students. You should be comfortable threading a sewing machine and following a seam allowance.
You will learn how to;

follow a more complex pattern

gather a skirt to fit a bodice

make an elastic casing

set a deep hem
- sew facings
You will need;

Tracing Paper

Fabric, for this pattern it is suggested to use light weight wovens such as linen, chambray, cotton lawn, seersucker, cotton poplin, viscose linens, rayon linen blends. Just be sure your fabric is light as heavier linens can be difficult to gather.
Depending on size and width of fabric you will need between 3m and 3.5m Please see the pattern details for exact measurements here. (Note: the pattern itself is included in the class fee, you do not have to purchase it)
