Pattern Drafting II: Basic Pants Class (Advanced - Sewing)

Have you wanted to learn how to draft a pair of pants that will fit you like a glove?  Draft a basic 4-piece pant with a side seam zip, waistband, and darts using your measurements. At the end of the class you will have YOUR basic pant block, pattern, and muslin pant perfect.

There will be homework between classes.

Prerequisites:

• You must have experience using commercial patterns, assembling, and sewing a garment
• You must have knowledge of sewing a side seam zipper, waistband, and darts (highly suggested)

Skills learned:

• Taking measurements
• Plotting measurements
• Pattern planning and drafting
• Fitting and adjusting 
• Some designing

You will need:

• approximately 2.5-3m of muslin or suitable non-stretch woven fabric
• Mechanical pencil
• Pattern paper
• Clear ruler, example 30 - 50 cm x 5cm
• French curve
• L-square 

We will provide for use during class:

• sewing machine
• black or white thread
• any sewing tools needed
