Learn to Sew The Rainbow Exploding Heart Quilt Class (Advanced Beginner - Sewing)

Have you been inspired to learn to sew? Inspired by some of the bold and modern patterns to learn a new skill. Join us to learn how to sew this beautiful vibrant and full of life quilt. The Rainbow Heart Quilt pattern by Threaded Lines and was inspired by the original Exploding Heart pattern from Slice of Pi Quilts, this version features a vibrant multi-coloured stripe that can also be adapted into any number of Pride flag variations. This pattern bursts with movement and creates a stunning masterpiece for any room. 

Prequisites:

• You know how to use a sewing machine
• Can construct a basic seam, aware of right side/wrong side of fabric
• Have made a basic quilt and looking to build on your skills

You will learn how to:

• Follow a quilt pattern
• Sew half square triangles HST
• Sew quarter square triangles QST
• Sew Y-unit blocks 
• Use a ¼” foot
• Assemble a basic quilt block

You will need: 

• quilting cotton in 1 background colour (we suggest white or black) and 6 colours for the rainbow.
  • 3.75M for the background
  • 1m of red, orange, yellow
  • 1.25m of green
  • 0.75m of blue
  • 0.5m of purple
•  Matching thread (or choose a contrasting colour for easier visualization)

We will provide: 

• A copy of the pattern
• All the necessary sewing tools
• Use of a sewing machine during class.
