Learn to Sew a Spring Roll Pouch (Advanced Beginner Class)
Have you been wanting to dip your toes into bag making? Or maybe you feel like you need to gain some confidence to tackle an in-depth pattern with some new terms, and the use of some new hardware. Well our bag making classes are perfect for learning to improve your pattern reading skills, experiment with a variety of hardware and have a teacher in your corner to help you along the way. Join us to sew the Spring Roll Pouch by Love You Sew. This pouch is absolutely amazing because of the shape of the angled zipper, so it's almost like having two pouches in one with plenty of room to store all the things!! I love the sleek and simple look of the pouch with it's fun angled zipper. The bag also has several options for the inside finishes.
This 3 part class is designed for advanced beginner and up. Advanced beginners should know how to thread and wind a bobbin, as well as sew straight with a seam allowance in mind.
You will learn how to;
- follow an in-depth pattern
- sew Y seams
- use interfacing
- use zipper tape
- attach rivets
You will need;
Reference the pattern here for all of the inner finishing options and their necessary hardware
- 0.5m of exterior fabric such as canvas, demin, twill; look for a "bottom weight" fabric
- 0.5m of interior fabric such as a quilting cotton
- 2m of light interfacing such as Pellon SF101
- matching thread
- 32"-40" of #5 nylon zipper tape and 3-4 pulls depending on your options
- 6 rivets (8mm post lenght)
- and the notions for your chosen inner finishing details
We will provide you with;
- A copy of the pattern
- a sewing machine for in class use
- all the necessary tools for a successful project
- sew in foam or fleece such as Soft and Stable
