Learn to Sew a Circle Skirt Class for Beginners

Regular price $110.00

Circle skirts are great quick projects to level up your skills, and understanding of fabric, especially learning about drape and shape. Circle skirts can be made with a very wide variety of fabrics, in any length and with varying amounts of fullness. A circle skirt is truly a timeless piece to add to any wardrobe. In this workshop class you’ll create your own custom-fit skirt. Join us and gain some sewing confidence while you learn some new skills.

This class has no prerequisites! Knowing the very basics of how a sewing machine works would be a benefit, but it’s not necessary.

You will learn how to:

  • Thread our classroom machines
  • Take great body measurements
  • Draft a circle skirt pattern with your measurements
  • Recognize the fabrics grain
  • Hem a long curved circle

You will need:

  • 1.5-4m of woven fabric; quantity really depends on the measurements. Our staff will be more than happy to help you in the store.
  • Sewing tracing paper
  • 1-1.5m of 2" elastic
  • Coordinating thread (or contrasting thread for better visualization)

We will provide:

  • The use of a sewing machine and all the tools necessary for a successful project.
  • Written instructions so you can make another one (or two!) at home

A list of our class policies can be found here.

Minimum enrolment is 3, maximum is 5.

This class is taught by Katherine.
