Learn to Knit - Hat Class (Beginnner - Knitting)
You’ve wanted to learn to knit, but cowls aren’t your thing? Let this versatile hat be your gateway! In this 3-session class you will learn the basics of knitting in a fun and supportive environment. At the end of the class, you’ll not only have a great hat to wear and show off, you’ll also have a solid foundation to build upon, and a blank slate hat pattern that you can use again and again!
You will learn:
- Knit stitch
- Purl stitch
- How to measure gauge
- Simple k2tog decrease
- Mattress stitch
- How to block (will demo steam blocking and describe wet blocking)
- How to make and attach a pompom (time permitting)
We will provide:
- 1 skein bulky yarn (we used Mecha), wound before 1st class
- 5.5mm straight needles
- a package of stitch markers
