We'll guide you step-by-step as you create a classic Log Cabin quilt block using this precise and fun quilting technique. Perfect for quilters of all skill levels who want to explore this versatile method and build a solid foundation in paper piecing.
Prerequisites:
- knowledge of basic quilting skills and terms
- able to maintain a consistent 1/4" seam allowance
You will learn:
- How to correctly position and sew fabric pieces onto a paper template.
- Techniques for trimming seams and maintaining alignment.
- Tips for removing the paper template cleanly and safely.
- The essential tools needed, such as add-a-quarter tools, and types of paper.
We will provide:
- a couple of copies of the pattern on FPP paper
- use of a sewing machine during class
You will need:
- some larger scraps of quilting cotton or a couple of fat quarters
- Optional:
- seam roller
- add-a-quarter ruler
