Learn Foundation Paper Piecing - Log Cabin Block Class (Advanced Beginner - Quilting)

Want to add to your quilting skills?  Foundation paper piecing is a fun technique to learn.  We'll guide you step-by-step as you create a classic Log Cabin quilt block using this precise and fun quilting technique. Perfect for quilters of all skill levels who want to explore this versatile method and build a solid foundation in paper piecing.

Prerequisites:

• knowledge of basic quilting skills and terms
• able to maintain a consistent 1/4" seam allowance

You will learn:

• How to correctly position and sew fabric pieces onto a paper template.
• Techniques for trimming seams and maintaining alignment.
• Tips for removing the paper template cleanly and safely.
• The essential tools needed, such as add-a-quarter tools, and types of paper.

We will provide:

• a couple of copies of the pattern on FPP paper
• use of a sewing machine during class

You will need:

• some larger scraps of quilting cotton or a couple of fat quarters
• Optional:
  • seam roller
  • add-a-quarter ruler
