Fabric Star Ornament Class (Special Interest)

Are you looking for a last minute gift to make for that special neighbour or your kids teacher this holiday season? The Fabric Star Ornament is a project that looks beautiful, doesn’t take a lot of time, and is the perfect project to use those great fat quarters or scraps we all have in our crafting spaces. 

Prerequisites:

• none!

You will learn:

• Safe use of rotary cutter and ruler
• how to accurately measure and cut fabric to required size
• how to fold and pin fabric to create ornament

We will provide:

• styrofoam ball
• eye hook
• straight pins
• use of any tools needed during class

What you need to bring:

• 3 fat quarters in either solids, small scale prints, or a combination of the two.
  • The design works best when a light, medium, and dark fabric are used in the design.
• You can also use up your scraps, keeping in mind you will need to get a minimum of 8, and up to 16 squares measuring 2 ½  X 2 ½ inches from your selected fabric.
• Approximately 10-12 inches of a 7/8 – 1 inch wide ribbon that co-ordinates with your chosen fabrics.
