Sew With Your Serger - Kajo Batwing Wrap Sweater Class (Advanced Beginner - Sewing)

This class is the first in our new series of “Sew With Your Serger” classes. The Kajo Batwing Wrap Sweater by Named Clothing is a great addition to your wardrobe, the criss cross detail is beautiful and makes this sweater perfect for spring and cool summer evenings. The batwing sleeves give it an effortless comfortable touch. 

This is a three session class, designed for gaining confidence with your serger.  Please make sure you can attend all sessions and that you can bring your own serger.  Or if you have taken our Serger Basics class, you may borrow one of our sergers.

The class has a prerequisite of knowing how to thread your serger or taking Serger Basics.  

In this class you will:

• Gain confidence with your serger
• Learn to cut accurately
• Learn to adjust your serger tension to suit your fabric.

You will need: 

• Tracing paper
• Fabric: a medium weight knit fabric with approximately 50% of stretch. 
• Make sure the fabric you use is a soft, reasonably drapey and loose knit, for example a soft cotton cable knit or a light sweatshirt fabric. 
• Knit interfacing 
• Be sure to also choose a knit interfacing with approximately the same stretch percent as your main fabric.Matching thread
• A serger in working order with manual.  You must know how to thread your serger.
• Serger thread

We will provide: 

• A digital copy of the pattern and the printed AO pages of the pattern
  
• sewing tools for in-class use
