Quilting by Andrea Tsang Jackson
Pickup currently unavailable at Fabrications Ottawa
In this groundbreaking journey of modern quilting, artist Andrea Tsang Jackson combines thoughtful essays and hands-on projects that weave traditional craft with contemporary creative practice. Through five innovative "Quests" she guides quilters to develop their artistic voice while exploring techniques that push the boundaries of traditional quilting.
Whether translating paintings into fabric, capturing memories through texture, or leading community quilt projects, Jackson's approach combines practical instruction with deeper prompts and exercises sparking creative growth. She shows how quilting can provide both structure and freedom, helping you find order in chaos while embracing the beauty of uncertainty, one stitch or quilt block at a time.
Perfect for quilters who:
- Seek to develop their unique creative voice
- Want to explore modern interpretations of traditional techniques
- Are ready to move beyond following patterns to designing original blocks or quilts (patterns and instructions are included, though!)
- Value the connection between craft and community
Includes free downloadable templates and bonus content to support your creative journey.
Part philosophical guide, part project workbook, this book invites you to discover how quilting can be both a practical craft and a powerful tool for artistic expression and self-discovery.
