5th Saturday is getting a refresh!
We are changing our very popular and long-standing 5th Saturday promotion to meet the growing needs of our business. This will also make it easier for our customers to take advantage of the exclusive promotion that we offer our most loyal customers.
We're now calling 5th Saturday VIP Week. It is a week-long promotion of 20% off almost everything in store (the same restrictions that we’ve always had still apply) for a period of one week from Sunday to Saturday.
Each quarter we’ll surprise you with VIP Week a day or two before it starts. VIP Week can happen at any time during the quarter but will usually happen near the beginning of the quarter. This will let us offer it at times that will be most convenient for customers and for the store. (I’m sure you’ve noticed that we’ve had to adjust the dates for the last several years because of Easter, Labour Day, Halloween, or our Winter Holiday closure.) You’ll get an email in the evening on the Friday before the sale starts, and it will only go out to those who meet the membership requirements.
The requirements haven't changed in over 4 years: you are eligible after 6 purchases or from spending $500 in the previous 365 days. The list is getting very big now, with more than 1000 customers being on the list at any given time, and it is a lot to manage manually. The big change is that the process for determining eligibility is now automated so being eligible one quarter does not guarantee that you will remain eligible for the entire year. If you ever want us to help you figure out if you’re eligible, just let us know and we’ll look up your purchase history.
Instead of our customary canvas shopping bag, purchases over $100 will now get a fantastic, branded canvas and vinyl zippered project bag. These bags are great for organizing your hand-stitching projects, taking your notions with you to retreats, as pencil cases for your colouring books, as a cosmetic bags for traveling and more. And they’ll be great to collect because we’ll change up with the colour we order each time we restock them.
That’s it! A few tweaks to a great perk of our loyalty program to make it even better for you, our amazing customers, but overall the same great promotion.
