Southport Dress Class (Intermediate - Sewing)

This class is four sessions. Please make sure you can attend all sessions.

Prerequisites:
- Experience successfully completing several sewing projects; this class will not cover basic sewing machine operations
- Familiarity with cutting out a sewing pattern and notching instructions
- Familiarity with using a sewing pattern
Skills learned:
- Taking your measurements and picking the correct pattern size
- Following a pattern
- Sewing a button placket and making buttonholes
- Finishing a neckline and arm holes with bias binding
- Making a casing
- Hemming
Materials Provided:
- A copy of the pattern
- Any sewing tools needed
- A sewing machine to use in class
Materials Needed:
- Tracing paper
- Fabric: Light weight, woven fabrics with movement such as cotton voile, rayon challis, and lightweight linen.
- Matching thread
- 3 yds single fold 1/2” bias tape
- 1/4 yd lightweight interfacing
- 4 x 1/4”-3/8” buttons
