Learn to Fix Basic Knitting Mistakes Class (Advanced Beginner - Knitting)
Does the thought of fixing your knitting mistakes scare you? Then this class is for you! You will learn how to fix basic knitting mistakes including:
- Picking up dropped stitches
- Undoing your knitting (using a lifeline, tinking, and frogging)
- Avoiding twisting your stitches
- Preventing adding extra stitches
Please note that this class is for learning the skills only and you will not have a finished project at the end of the class. You will be practicing your mistake-fixing skills on a swatch.
Prerequisites:
- You will need to know how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off
- We recommend having a couple of small finished projects under your belt, even if you’ve already taken the Learn to Knit class
You will need:
- 1/4-1/2 of a ball of medium-weight scrap yarn (dk, worsted, or light bulky)
- 4-6 mm (US 6-10) needles to go with your yarn (these can be straight, circular, double pointed, etc…)
- A crochet hook (we recommend 3.5-5 mm) or a Handi Tool
- A small piece of contrasting scrap yarn (we recommend something slippery, like cotton)
- A darning needle
** Please come to class with a swatch on your needles: Cast on 10-15 stitches and knit 10-15 rows before class
If there is time at the end of the class, we may be able to discuss other problems or mistakes you have encountered on your knitting journey!
