Serger Basics - March 29th


Do you have a love hate relationship with your serger? Are you too afraid to use it? Maybe you just can’t figure out how to get started. If so, our beginner serger class will teach you the basics of serger use including the following techniques:

Threading the machine.

The purpose of 3 or 4 threads and how to convert to a rolled hem.

How to sew inside and outside curves.

How to make gathers with the differential feed.

How to finish a  hem and make a neck binding (time permitting)

Serger and instruction manual

4 different coloured spools of thread

Fabric for practicing


Sewing Machine Basics or equivalent 

 *Minimum registration for this class is 3 students.  Maximum is 4.

Our classes are small; enrollment is limited. As a courtesy to our instructors and other students, please be sure to check your calendar prior to booking a class. There are no refunds for missed classes. With a one-week notice, you may reschedule for another class. If the minimum class enrollment is not met, we will cancel the class, and you can choose to have a refund of your class fees, a store credit or be transferred to another class.

Other Information:

Supplies and materials are not included unless noted. Please be on time, or arrive early if you need to buy your supplies. There's a lot to learn and we use the entire time allotted for the class.
