Knit T-Shirts for Everybody and Every Body!
This is a step-by-step breakdown of the the Knit T-shirts for Everybody class that we run at Fabrications.
The great thing about learning how to make a t-shirt is that a t-shirt is a t-shirt is a t-shirt. Once you've made one, you can make all the variations and adaptations!
The Grainline Studio Lark is a t-shirt.
But so is the Jalie Nicole Shift Dress, Tunic and Tee
And the True Bias Nikko Top and Dress
And the Megan Nielsen Jarrah Sweater!
I'm going to break this down into lessons:
(Added later: this all got to be more complicated than I anticipated. Every time I'd start writing a blog post, I'd realize that I needed to go back and write another basic techniques post first! Here's hoping we can actually get to the t-shirt!)
Lesson One: Sizing and Grading a Pattern
Lesson Two: Cutting out a Pattern
Lesson Three: Sewing with Knits and Sewing the Shoulder Seams
Lesson Four: Inserting the Neckband
Lesson Five: Adding Sleeves. Or Not.
Lesson Six: Sewing the Side-Seams and Hemming.
As I add each lesson, the titles above will become live links. Okay? Let's get started!
