Like this quilt? October 14 2015

Last year, when we first started up the Hintonburg Sewcial Club, one of our first projects was to make opaque IV bag covers for our neighbours at the Ottawa Integrative Cancer Centre (OICC).  It was an interesting project not only from a design perspective, but also learning about the work that the OICC does for cancer patients in Ottawa.

Just over a year ago, the OICC partnered up with Babes4Breasts to launch the Head Start program that helps women who recently diagnosed with breast cancer. The program offers workshops on nutrition, exercise, mind body therapies, stress management, integrative medicine and healthy lifestyle.

Throughout the month of October, the OICC is running an online auction fundraiser for the Head Start program.  All sorts of amazing gems from local restaurants, spas, artists, ski hills, hotels - not to mention, tickets and a signed jersey from the Sens!

We've donated this sweet baby quilt / wall hanging.  It's 45" x 45", all cotton and backed with fuzzy flannel.  It would make a great gift for a new baby, to be used as a snuggly quilt in a crib or as a bright, cheerful wall hanging.

It will be displayed on our wall until the end of October.  Come take a look!  Better yet, place a bid!

See you at the shop!
